Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba

Hello, Venturepreneurs™!

Last week, I shared a book that I was reading called Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba*. I was pumped -up and encouraged as I read Cara’s story and the other Female Entrepreneur success stories highlighted in her book.

My biggest take away from the book, Girl Code, was to be encouraged when another entrepreneur steals or copies your creative ideas. Your initial reaction is to get angry, strike back, or contact them. However, once you realize that they think enough of your work to copy it, then it becomes a compliment. They admire your work and want to be like you! WOW!
NO ONE can ever be exactly YOU!
However, NO ONE can ever be exactly YOU!
You were created with a unique DNA that forms its own ideas, thoughts, habits, writings, words, pictures, posts etc. Embrace your own uniqueness and encourage other entrepreneurs to do the same!
Strike back to the copiers with positivity by leaving encouraging words to their own work. For example, share one of their unique social media posts or comment on their own blog. Through the process, the copier will be motivated to continue their own unique work.

As always when I read, I keep a notebook handy to jot down quotes that speak to me and thoughts that are stimulated while reading.

I have included a downloadable list of inspiring quotes that I retrieved from Girl Code. Print them off and keep in your “Inspiring Quotes” folder for future reference. When you need a personal word of encouragement or a social media post to share, you will have it at your fingertips. Remember when sharing someone else’s post, always give them credit.
